Visual musings and project pieces, by Marie-Claire Henderson.

I recently graduated with first class honours in a Masters of Architecture (Professional) from the University of Auckland. A number of the posts in this blog contain work from design projects completed during these studies; there are also some hand drawings, photos and extra-curricular work.

Design: Section and plans from the Naked City project

The Brief was to begin by exploring situationalist methods of understanding the city, particularly through the derive. This led to the concept of the world and, by extension, built spaces, as a series of stages on which to view the drama of life. The building was then developed using view shafts both in the horizontal and vertical planes, generating a set of stages, into which was fi tted the programmatic requirements of a dance school.
